Go behind the scenes with the team from the Fashion Design Studio, TAFE NSW as they create a garment made from 53 pre-loved pieces sourced from Salvos Stores.
The garment includes a foundation piece, skirt, pinafore top, and jacket, weighing in at 9.5kg. Why 53? It’s the average number of clothing items bought by every Australian last year. This incredible garment was made for the Seamless Circular Economy Showcase to highlight clothing consumption and it demonstrates the enormous potential of reimagining materials to create a more circular clothing industry.
