The Seamless scheme design has been named as a prestigious Good Design Award Gold Winner in the Fashion Impact category at the internationally acclaimed 2024 Australian Good Design Awards.
The theme of this year’s awards, "The Design Effect" underscored the crucial role design plays in shaping better products, services and experiences while driving the transition to a more sustainable, less carbon-intensive future.
The Seamless scheme design, which was created by a Consortium led by the Australian Fashion Council with Charitable Reuse Australia, Queensland University of Technology, Sustainable Resource Use and WRAP Asia Pacific, received a prestigious Good Design Award Gold Winner accolade in the Fashion Impact category for exceptional design and innovation.
The Jury praised Seamless, commenting:
"By advocating for a reduce, reuse, recycle model, Seamless aims to revolutionise the clothing lifecycle and promote circularity. The Jury commends the project for its robust, collaborative and consultative development process. The anticipation surrounding Seamless reflects its potential to significantly impact the Australian clothing industry.”
The 2024 Awards highlighted excellence across 12 design disciplines, covering more than 32 categories. This year's entries were rigorously evaluated by more than 80 distinguished Jurors from around the globe, including designers, engineers, architects, and industry leaders.
The evaluation process focused on three core criteria: good design, design innovation, and design impact, ensuring that each winner demonstrated outstanding design quality and effectiveness.
